“In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings and the champagne and the stars.”

Today Tim (my friend, not my son) and I hosted a group of fine gentlemen from the desert island of Aruba. I was pretty tired,  but figured it would be kind of a rest day riding with these guys. Surely they weren’t prepared for the challenges of our Western Colorado riding. I mean, these guys work in the tourism industry of ARUBA.

But I was so very wrong.

These guys had been training for this trip for months. They were in shape (for the most part) and ready. There were seven of them, and it was so fun to tell them dirty jokes, take their pictures, and show them the variety of lines around the trails.

We rode probably twenty miles around the Loma/Kokopelli trails. It was just good riding and good company. I felt excellent and was looking forward to riding with these guys for several more days.

Would I get to know them well enough to warrant a trip to visit them in Aruba?
