It was a hard day. I played with kids all morning while Dennis rode, then I went to the cyclocross race to help and do the announcing. It was really fun to cheer on my friends, meet new people, and watch the sun set.

But I didn’t get to ride until later. I left the race venue around 9? 10? Drove home and got dressed in my bike clothes, and rode on the Riverfront trail to pick up Dennis at our friend’s house, as we had planned. He wanted to try some new adult beverages, so I rode over to be the designated driver.

I’ll be honest, I was pretty tired after 8 hours at the race venue. I had to work pretty hard to psych myself up to ride in the dark- but I did. I decided that even though a lot/all of the ride was going to be on pavement, I’d take The Stig (my mountain bike). It made all the downhills very very fast and fun. I was jumping curbs and dodging light posts- as if I were riding drops and dodging trees on a downhill run.

You can see my ride HERE.
