Hi. I’m Elisa. I know it’s a hard name. I’ve been challenged with it all my life. Pronounced “E-Leee-Sah”. Elegant, no?
I’m a mother of three amazing kids, a teacher of many. But if you ask me what I “do”, my answer is: a lot of things. In variety.
Have an MBA from Western Governor’s University and use it to help people with their businesses and non-profit organizations. My firm: Sovereign. Named it after a trail near Moab, UT. I also help music educators build, grow, and manage thriving school music programs via my blog, online courses, and conference speaking via elisa-jones.com.
I’m an avid trail athlete and advocate. I like to read, practice yoga, play with my three kids, and volunteer (like with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association, and the District 51 Foundation).
I also get to lead, teach, and perform music (thanks to my training in K-12 music education from BYU), and currently teach music at Holy Family Catholic School. I’ve been singing all my life and have played the Horn for more than 25 years. I’m a past Board Chairman of the Grand Valley Trails Alliance, and currently serve as the treasurer for the D51 Foundation Board as well.
My project for 2017 is to Discover the Monument. This means over the next 12 months I intend to cover every ground of trail within the Colorado National Monument. I shall document the ensuing adventures here, with photo documentation by Matt Janson.
I’m living the good life. Catch me on the trail.
