Going Out, Weather or Not

My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past!

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone!

Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway!- “Let it Go”, from Frozen

I know, same song two days in a row. But what the heck? Why are you reading my scrapbook anyway? Ha ha ha!
I had a great time last night post-run hanging out with friends at the Ale House. Michelle and I laughed and laughed and decided we’d hit the trail together today.
She came over and we rode from here for a warm-up loop at the Secret Stash. The only problem was the rain. And the wind. And then some more rain. And then the really really hard wind.
We got back to my house just as it seemed to get really serious. We drank some hot Chai (a blend from Teavana that I don’t just share with anyone…), and had a nice visit. By the time I got the text from Dennis that Tim had crashed on his face at the skate park and needed stitches, the weather had cleared and we couldn’t figure out why we weren’t still out riding. Honestly, it had looked like the rain was going to last all day, not blow over!
The best part: we’re going to ride again soon. And I’m feeling stronger. I have our White Rim in One Night ride in less than a week, and I’m feeling encouraged. I mean, how hard can 103+ ish miles be?
