Going Topless

“My power flurries through the air into the ground
My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around
And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast
I’m never going back,
The past is in the past

Let it go, let it go
And I’ll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone

Here I stand
In the light of day
Let the storm rage on,
The cold never bothered me anyway”

Let It Go, from “Frozen”

I’m a lucky little girl this weekend! My friend, Catherine, took the train in from SLC to hang out with me! We booked Dave’s family cabin and decided to get ourselves into some serious shenanigans.

Our trail experience was two-fold; we hiked around the Ouray Ice Park (no one was climbing as the ice was melting), and then we drove up Yankee Boy Basin. It was so beautiful, with little snow flurries, and the mountains climbing so steeply from the road, the icicles as tall as a house!

We decided to take the front-top off of my Jeep and enjoy the views, the music blasting, and the two of us free for at least a little while. It was really an excellent experience!

And may I just say it’s great to have a friend like Catherine. No matter if we don’t talk every day, we still know we care about each other. And I really feel like I can just be myself with her which is the ultimate freedom. Bonus- we can also talk about just about anything. It’s great and I am more than grateful to have this time to spend with her- can’t wait to do it again!
