“Jeep is America’s only real sports car.” -Enzo Ferrari
My legs feel surprisingly good today. I think it’s due to the long, hot, therapeutic bath I took last night. But even still, my body needed rest. So I opted for a little Jeep run today, with my Connor. Since we went about lunch time, Dennis was able to join us.
It’s both intimidating and enjoyable to have Dennis along when Jeeping. It’s pretty rare for me to be driving and him to be in the passenger seat, at least while in the same Jeep. There have been some great times when we have both been driving our own Jeeps as well.
You see, Dennis is a genius. He is adept, immediately, at everything he attempts. The longer he focuses on an activity, the better he gets at it. He has been driving Jeep since he was tall enough to reach the pedals. So you can assume that now he is extremely good at it.
So it’s nice to have him in the passenger seat because he kind of coaches me through things. Of course it’s also intimidating as hell. Driving in the snow today, laying down the first tracks on the trail, was fun and would have been a little mental for me had he not been along.
I opted for a short 4 mile loop that took us from Bangs Canyon to Third Flats, past the Canyon View trail turn-off and connecting just below the Nut-n-2-it trail. Good times were had. Here’s a couple pix:
