Magellan and Highline

“The church says the earth is flat; but I have seen its shadow on the moon, and I have more confidence even in a shadow than in the church.” Ferdinand Magellan

Sorry, that quote was just too good.

Today we head for a weekend camping trip with the Landis Family. Since it was a safe assumption that I wasn’t going to get a workout/training ride in I woke up early this morning to do the 3×3 workout as Eric recommended. This time, though, I went on dirt. I explored a new stretch of singletrack, got a flat tire, felt like there was a knife stabbing me in the  back for most of the climb, and crashed on the DH- but still had a marvelous time.

Once I got home, got us packed, got some shopping in, got hooked up with the Landis family, we hit Highline Lake- let the kids play and swim, then dried off and went for a short ride around the lake. It was the most dirt my kids had ever done, and it was Tim’s first real ride on his new bike.

Sara and Eric are so much fun and I love their little boys. They are so mellow, and were patient with my boys, coaching them along.

We ended up driving to Rabbit Valley and finding us a sweet camping spot for the weekend. IMG_2327 IMG_2329 IMG_2330 IMG_2341 IMG_2353 IMG_2358 IMG_2359 IMG_2367 IMG_8482 IMG_8486 IMG_8488 IMG_8490 IMG_8500 IMG_8501 IMG_8506 IMG_8509
