“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.” -JRR Tolkien, Lord of the Rings
Despite being tired and filled with the wrong mixture of chemicals (me) and not enough calories (Melinda), we rode out at Kokopelli (Loma). We climbed up Mary’s in the moonlight, and decided that though we could handle the drop down to Horsetheif, we didn’t want the climb back up.
So we lollipopped Wrangler- which was surprisingly fun in the dark! Then back down Mary’s- which was not-surprisingly terrifying in the dark! Then we did a lap of Rustler’s- which was incredibly fun in the dark! Melinda laid down some of her best times out there, actually.
When I got home, I was cold. Like, for hours.
