Right at Home

“Short cuts make long delays.”

I woke with the sun this morning and went for a solo run out at the Lunch Loop. Ever since riding Sarlacc I’ve been a little neglectful of my health. Also, I think I’m still waiting for inspiration for what to do next year.

I ran in the area of the Three Sisters and took the hike-only Hilltop trail. It was difficult to follow and find- I’m fairly certain that aside from the people who built it, I’m the only one who knows that it’s there. It’s a tricky little rock staircase. A short cut, but a long delay.

It’s nice to be reminded why I am a morning person. I relish the sunrise.

Afternoon Delight

“Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance. If the dispositions of the parties are ever so well known to each other or ever so similar beforehand, it does not advance their felicity in the least. They always continue to grow sufficiently unlike afterwards to have their share of vexation; and it is better to know as little as possible of the defects of the person with whom you are to pass your life.”
― Jane AustenPride And Prejudice

Dennis had a lunch meeting and ended up at home in the middle of the afternoon. I was already home due to taking Trinity to get immunized, so we decided we could sneak away for a little cold afternoon delight at the Lunch Loop.

We climbed up Pet, and did the standard High Noon, Raven’s Ridge, and came down Curt’s and then the 3 Sisters. Pedaled home and called it good. We did run into a friend of ours, Ben, and took time for a short chat. Ben pointed out that you always seem to like the people you meet riding out on a cold afternoon- they’re the ones who really know when to ride!

No pictures, but STRAVA!

Another busy day

And when I say busy, I mean it was non-stop and very fun!

I started with attending an awards ceremony in support of my soon-to-be-boss, Kim.

Then I went to an elementary school for a tour, in my role as a board member for the D51 Foundation.IMG_1985 IMG_1986

This was followed immediately by lunch and conversation.

I went from there to meeting with Kim and the accountant, and signed the job offer.

After which I headed to meet at the Lunch Loop for a fast, hard run with my friends. No pictures on the run, but got a friend (and our mortgage loan officer) to take this shot of me:
